Well if finally happened. Edward has seen the light(sort of)and maybe even reason. Good thing Alice is keeping a very close eye on his and Bella's present and future. Killing Newton would not be a good way to start back at school. Picking up on the old routine will help with Bella's belief that Edward is not going anywhere. It will probably take some time for her to be comfortable with the routine again, but it will work. Charlie is so obsessed with where he went wrong that it's sort of too bad he can't know the truth. But I'm pretty sure the Volturi wouldn't be at all understanding and I don't think Charlie would be a happy camper as a vampire and the Volturi wouldn't stop with Charlie if they showed up in town. Jessica, Lauren, Mike can go pound sand. Angela and Ben will stick by Bella, Edward and Alice. On the other hand, Charlie is going to be as unhospitable, unfriendly, and antagonistic as he possibly can. And what will he do when Jacob shows up?

It all comes down to belief Edward. And you've condemned or redeemed yourself with your own words. Bella has always known you have a soul just as Carlisle has always known. The hope you now embrace will lead to your salvation. And just maybe you'll remember that any existence or life with Bella will be filled with the love you share.

Not going to cut it Edward. You are so barking up the wrong tree or maybe that should be forest. And you still don't understand that Bella believes you don't love her. She still believes she loves you more than you care for her. And apparently you are still under the impression she will 'outgrow' you. Good luck with that. So now that you both realize that the love really is real the only problem is your ignorance. You do not understand that when Bella means forever, she means forever. While you might be willing to have a more or less platonic relationship until she dies, she's not going to buy that idea. She loves you and wants the whole thing. The same as Carlisle & Esme and your siblings. Well the marriage part can come at a much later date as far as she's concerned. You're still hung up on her humanity and she want's nothing more than to be rid of it. And now she has ammunition to help her cause. The Volturi wouldn't just track Alice, they would go after the entire Cullen family. Jasper knows this, and probably Carlisle realizes that would happen. The bitch is still thinking in terms of herself. What she had to give up when she was changed. She has no clue what Bella wants and doesn't care anyway. It is truly amazing that you are still so blind Edward.

Wasn't thinking it might be Jasper in the woods. Jasper was right in wanting Edward to suffer as much as he did. He just didn't know Edward had already suffered much more than that. That he was able to show Jasper exactly how much guilt, anguish and despair he had felt and was feeling now was only a start to what he needed to do for Bella and his family. Poor Charlie is furious and worried about all the wrong things. And he can never know the truth. Nothing in Edward's reality has prepared him for the realization that Bella truly believes he doesn't love her. And that she maybe never did believe he loved her, that it was all a charade on his part? Incredulity doesn't begin to describe what he's thinking and feeling. He does kind of ruin things with his unilateral decision that she remain human. To her that means he doesn't really love her. Because if he loved her, truly loved her, he would want her to become a vampire and be with him for eternity. That she loves him and wants to be with for eternity apparently is of no importance, not an option as far as he is concerned. That is more than a slap in the face as far as she's concerned. Don't blame her a bit. He's just declared his love and the fact he can't live without her and in the next breath tells her it will be on his terms? That what she wants is irrevelant? I'd slap him upside the head with a flamethrower for that! You are not going to win this one Edward. Suck it up and deal with it.

Such a long trip and so, so many misunderstood looks and unsaid words and feelings. So terrified that the other one really doesn't want them anymore. So human. Edward's terrified Bella has come to love someone else and will tell him there is no longer anything between them. Bella terrified that Edward will be relieved of his guilt about endangering her and leave to pursue the rest of his life as soon as she is safe with Charlie. It really is kind of funny, but so tragic at the same time. Memorizing each other, recording each touch in the mind so they'll be able to remember with clarity what they'll be missing. Edward's all consuming guilt at what he's done to not only Bella and Charlie, but to his family. Rosalie is still a self-serving bitch, but realizes she needs to at least pretend to like Bella if she wants the rest of the family to forgive what she did. Everyone's center is going to be Bella. Charlie in some ways will be the easiest to get around. Bella will simply have to tell him she's 18 and will go live with the Cullen's if he refuses to let Edward back in the house. The hardest part is that Charlie has to be kept in the dark about the truth of not only the Cullen's, but of the Quileute's. Edward's going to try and atone for what he's done if Bella will let him. And it has to be Jacob who is in the woods with Edward.

First of all Edward if you tell Bella you'll find a way to keep her human you're only going to reinforce her belief that you don't really love her. And she's already afraid you're going to leave her again as soon as you can. She isn't about to close her eyes and find you gone when she opens them. Still making unilateral decisions affecting other people's lives regardless of what they want. Hitting you upside the head with a flamethrower is upper most in my mind at the moment. There seems to be a lot of teenagerish or maybe just human, insecurity in both of them. Guess that's supposed to be good for keeping the normal reader's interest. Doesn't do anything for me, but I'm not what anyone would call normal by any stretch of the imagination. Getting between Alice and shopping is considered hazardous to anyone's health. Though concern for Bella does stem most of her obsession she is able to get a small fix by getting Edward and Bella necessary clean travel clothes. Onwards to the real fun.

Edward is still not getting it. He's still making life and death unilateral decisions for others regardless of what they might want. It is not your place Edward to decide what's right for Bella. What you will and will not allow doesn't mean s***. It is not your decision! Would you please just get that through your extremely thick head? She wants with every fiber of her being to become a vampire and be with you for eternity. It is her decision! You love each other beyond reason. What other outcome could there possibly be? And you are totally forgetting about love when you think about the existence you have been living. Your existence hasn't been good because you had no one you loved to share it with. Put the love you and Bella have for each other in the picture and it would look entirely different. She wasn't looking at you in fear when she woke up, she was confused as any newborn would be. Your penchant for being overprotective clouds your thinking. As to thinking about her and Jacob. Sorry Edward you lost all claim on what Bella would and could do when you left to protect her. Which by the way was pathetically stupid on your part. Yup, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and you didn't just upgrade to a super highway, you made it at least sixteen lanes wide. And you really need to start listening to Alice a little better. Bella wouldn't have seen Jane causing you pain at all if you listened instead of kneejerk reacting all the time. But you're in love and that's controling your thinking and reactions where you realize it or not. Jane's an immature, evil, cruel and very deadly teenager. Aro has an ego to rival Donald Trump. Caius just likes being a bastard. Felix just likes fighting, he and Emmett would probably get along well. Marcus wants to die but Aro won't let him. Life just doesn't get anymore fun does it? Depends on Edward's thoughts as they head west towards home.

Definitely easy to see Edward's last thoughts as being of Bella. What she meant to him what they meant to each other, how she had brightened his existence for a short time, how maybe Carlisle had been right about vampires having a soul and being with Bella for eternity even if it was in death. Realizing she was alive, in his arms and the world crashing around him. He's done it again! He's put her in danger, risked her life. Stupidity seems to be his first, middle, and last names at the moment. That removing himself would remove the danger from her life. Doesn't he remember what Alice told him about bringing Fate into her life? It would be him who caused her death? And at the moment all his fears are being brought forward. Just remember Alice will help you with strategy and don't discount Bella's contribution.

Despair, depression, self-recrimination are all Edward feels he has left. And he's using Bella's wonder and marvel as his way of ending his existence. He knows Alice is on the way to stop him and is hoping the Volturi won't include her in his punishment. Aro no doubt would give her the choice of joining or dying. This is all so plausible. If SM had written from Edward's POV would it have been similar to this? Probably.

So Victoria actually got on the plane to Argentina. And promptly got on another one back to the States. Had she finally decided to just kill Bella and didn't care if Edward was there? Did she think Edward would turn around and follow her back to the States when he realized Argentina was not a place vampires could blend in easily? Alice's vision wasn't of something that happened in Rio, it happened someplace in the US. New Orleans and Mardi Gras? Victoria has already enlisted Laurent's help, he's now dead and that's after Valentines. And now it's March 16th and Bella is about to jump off a cliff. But without all of these things that have happened would the story be as much fun? Yup, other exciting things could have happened.

Author's Response: Ah, an interesting theory, but no. Victoria didn't go to South America, though she did leave a venom marker on someone who did... Actually the perfect revenge would be for Edward to return and find Bella dead - just like Victoria finding James' ashes in Phoenix. I'm loving your reviews and chastising of Edward. Thank you so much! blondie
